Frequently Asked Questions

General

What makes Koru so revolutionary?

Koru is committed to providing a better type of fundraising program than what most groups are used to. One where everyone involved can feel good about and makes a difference beyond the funds raised. Our complimentary educational resources, our healthy, quality and practical products along with our competitive prices are just some of the things that make our fundraiser unique.

Koru is committed to giving back and has pledged to give 1% of sales to environmental charities. We are also doing our best to practice what we preach. Some of the things we do to mininize our footprint is take public transit instead of owning cars, send one big shipment rather than lots of shipments to individual households and only print on FSC certified paper.

Do I have to support a charity to be involved?

Not at all. We have chosen to give at least one percent of our sales back to charity and would be delighted if you chose to dedicate part of your sales to charity. If you can’t afford to, we understand and you can feel good knowing a charity of your choice is being supported.

Why doesn’t Koru offer online sales?

Online sales generally raise 10 to 20% of what traditional catalogs sales do. Fundraising is based on impulse purchases and having to order online takes many steps. This means losing a lot of potential customers. Plus, we think its no fun to ask every customer to pay for shipping. Fundraising is all about maximizing your profit. If you are serious about raising money, this isn’t the way to do it.

Products

What is the profit margin for participating groups?

Profit margins are 40-50% of the total sales depending on the program.

Programs

What if my group is small?

We want to encourage everyone to use responsible fundraising and that is why with all of the Koru fundraising programs, except for branded bottles there are no minimum group sizes or minimum orders.

What if I am in Canada?

Koru Fundraising works with schools and groups across both the United States and Canada.

Education

Is it a requirement for my group to use the educational resources?

It is certainly not a requirement, but it is recommended for goodwill and will also increase the success of the program. Education is the resource for change.

What do the educational resources cost?

They are free :)
