Koru Fundraising offers to help Haiti through the sale of Relief Beads
The company will be donating $1 for each bracelet sold until Valentine’s Day.
It has been with great sadness to see the continued images arriving in from the incomprehensible loss happening in Haiti. Wednesday will most definitely be a day people will remember. It is a tragedy that has affected so many lives. As of Monday, there were over 1,000,000 homeless in Haiti, Canada was missing 1,415 citizens, many of whom live in the Toronto area. The outpouring of support both from the public community as well as the business community has been wonderful to see.
The Koru Fundraising team has spent much of the past few days looking to find the best way for our organization to help. After much deliberation, Koru Fundraising has decided to donate $1 for every Relief Bead sold between now and Valentine’s Day. This means that groups who use the Relief Bead fundraiser over the next four weeks will not only being raising funds with a wonderful, unique product, they will be helping relief efforts in in the devastated country of Haiti. We are encouraging groups to donate a portion of their funds raised to Haiti as well. After Valentine’s Day, Koru Fundraising will likely be directing relief funds to the continued humanitarian crisis in the region of Darfur through Relief International. Through the power of many fundraising groups working to raise funds that they would already be raising, we expect a significant amount of funds to be raised. Our goal is to sell 10,000 bracelets between today and February 14th. There is no upfront cost or financial risk to a participating group.
