One Percent for the Planet

The Koru Team has decided to go one step further. We are working towards giving back as much as possible. Joining One Percent For The Planet is just one way we intend on giving back. This is a legal binding pledge that we will give one percent of our sales to environmental causes. Each organization will have the choice of where we will donate their portion of our one percent towards.

Charity #1 – Bicycles for Humanity

Bicycles for Humanity is a charity whose goal is to empower people to improve the quality of life by transferring mobility through the use of bicycles. Local chapters arrange for bicycles to be sent to less fortunate communities around the world.

Fundraising Idea: Partner together with 2-4 local schools to help generate a bicycle drive. Have students raise money to help pay for the shipping costs. By partnering with the community you are supporting, students can see the impact they are having through the reusing of bicycles.

Charity #2 – WaterAid America

WaterAid enables the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. These basic human rights underpin health, education and livelihoods and form the first, essential sep in overcoming poverty.

Fundraising Idea: Create a school unit on water and its importance. WaterAid offers a variety of educational materials to be used in-class. Use the branded bottle fundraiser to sell water bottles and donate $2 from every bottle to WaterAid to help a school in need.
